- 12 ounces lean ground beef
- ½ cup sweet onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Pinch of black pepper, freshly ground
- 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the beef, onion, garlic, mustard, thyme and pepper until well combined.
- Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal balls, and form into ½-inch-thick patties.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil.
- Pan-fry the burgers until they are cooked through and browned, about 6 minutes per side.
- Serve hot.
COOKING TIP
Raw hamburger patties freeze well when they are tightly wrapped. You can double this recipe and freeze any leftovers for future meals. Place a piece of parchment paper between the patties for easy separation.
