Through DCI’s Clinical Research (DCICR) division, DCI initiates, conducts, manages and funds large clinical trials in nephrology. Potential projects are reviewed and approved by our DCI Medical Director Research Committee.
Clinical Research
Established in 2007, DCICR reviews industry- or investigator-initiated studies proposed to be conducted in DCI facilities to ensure the research is scientifically rigorous and valid while the appropriate procedures to protect participants are followed. We have expert knowledge of federal regulations, HIPAA, Medicare Clinical Trial Policy, Good Clinical Practice, and Federalwide Assurances.
Site Management Organization
DCICR offers a dedicated team of professionals to serve as a trusted partner and Site Management Organization (SMO). Our clinical research program has research sites specializing in chronic kidney disease, hypertension, anemia, bone mineral disease, electrolytes, and much more. The DCICR team believes that building relationships is key to ensuring quality data, and we have built our program with that belief as our foundation.
- The DCICR Team has an established relationship with research site investigators to communicate effectively and achieve study goals.
- A dedicated Project Manager oversees and supports each research site by managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, clinical staff in-services, screening and recruiting, and identifying and troubleshooting potential study issues.
- DCI employs the clinical research coordinator (CRC) in 50% of the sites for enhanced oversight and dedicated research staff with experience working with DCI in 100% of sites.
