In addition to professional education and best-practice sharing during our spring and fall annual meetings, we celebrate our top-performing clinics and their teams, highlighting top patient-education efforts, as well as marking milestone anniversaries of our team. During our Spring Meeting, we focus on our Home Therapies and Social Work teams, gathering staff from more than 240 clinics across 30 states, in addition to our clinic and corporate leadership teams.

We congratulate our top performing Home Therapies programs for their dedication to excellence in providing the best care for our patients.

DCI Corporate Leadership with Award Winner Indianapolis Home Therapies Team

“Indianapolis has an amazing home therapies team who routinely goes above and beyond to provide exemplary care for our patients, empowering them to live their best lives,” said Jeff Kennedy, DCI Senior Operations Director. “They are most deserving of the DCI Darwin Award. Our Indianapolis nurses lead a strong interdisciplinary team that truly embodies DCI’s mission by serving their patients within the clinic and supporting the patients as they dialyze in their homes.”

To be considered for the Darwin Award, clinics must be a Star Award recipient, and were also rated based on percentages of patients receiving the flu vaccination within one year; patients on the UNOS waiting list for a transplant; patients gained or lost in the past year; patients with semi-annual technique review by direct inspection; patients hospitalized versus the number of treatment days; non-relapsing peritonitis episodes per patient days; and mortality rates per 1,000 patient days.

DCI Star Clinics

We celebrate our 40 Star Award clinics, top performing Home Therapies programs based on their peritonitis rates, patients on the transplant waiting lists and medical reconciliation.

Congratulations to the following 2025 Star Award Recipients!
