Description:
Our project started off with most of the volunteers showing up pretty early to set up, we had everything from food, face painting, bounce house, games, prizes and alot of information all about ESRD. We had help from so many of DCI’s employees as well as The Vascular Access Center, and the Kidney support group showed up. We had a ton of DCI T-shirts to hand out to the walkers that showed up, and boy did they show up. We must of had over 100 to 150 walkers alone show up. And to top it off we had a lot of patients show up to help support this purpose project. Everyone had fun while getting some education on why learning about Kidney disease is so important and how it affects so many people. Parents brought their kids who enjoyed games, prizes, face painting, balloons and even a bounce house. While everyone enjoyed their time at our event our DJ played some music and kept the walk going. We had food, and deserts to go around as well as some protein jello, because we all know how important protein is to our patients. The YMCA was gracious enough to lend us their space for the day, and our local EMT’s showed up to help out. The event ended a little early due to rain, but everyone had a good time and learned a little something along the way.
