DCI Maine – Fairfield, ME

DCI Maine

Description:

DCI Skowhegan, Waterville, Belfast and Augusta Hospital Services all had representatives that participated in the second annual 5K run / walk. DCI staff provided free blood glucose and blood pressure screenings with goodies and educational materials to raise awareness of kidney disease. There were over 250 walkers that came out to support kidney disease awareness. Together we rose over $12,000. We want to give a huge thank you to Bethany LaVerdiere, RN, for organizing and providing a super great DCI tent and presence at the fundraiser.

Purpose:

DCI currently operates three clinics in Maine and two locations offering Hospital services. Our employees are proud of our organization and passionate about the care of our patients.  In our rural setting, we’ve found that the general public knows little about our organization, mission and the services we provide. Above all, we want our communities to know who we are, what we do and how to keep their kidneys healthy.  This is an opportunity for us to kick off a series of outreach events that would have a broad range of benefits to our communities, patients and organization alike.
