USRDS Report Finds DCI Provides Excellent Care
The 2010 United States Renal Data System (USRDS) Report was released on September 27, 2010. This report utilizes data from 2008 to compare quality indicators across dialysis providers. For the last seven years, Dialysis Clinic, Inc. has surpassed other providers in the direct comparison of several quality indicators. The data released this year shows DCI is still providing excellent patient care.
The 2010 USRDS report indicates:
- DCI has lower hospitalization and mortality rates than other providers. “Hospitalization ratios are very similar across the large groups, though lower in DCI units. By unit affiliation, DCI continues to have the lowest ratios for both hospitalization and mortality.”
- DCI provides cost effective care. “Laboratory costs, however, are fairly consistent, with the exception of DCI, for which costs are lower by nearly one-third compared to other providers…And laboratory costs ranged from $106 in DCI units to $151-156 in independent units and those owned by SDO.”
DCI is the largest non-profit dialysis provider and the third largest dialysis company in the United States. DCI’s mission is to serve the ESRD patient. “We are a service organization. The care of the patient is our reason for existence.”
