About DCI |
About DCI - Research, Education, and DevelopmentOur goals are to make our services available whenever needed: to support research into all phases of ESRD treatment including dialysis, organ procurement and transplantation, and anti-rejection therapies; and to promote professional and public education in this critical field of medicine. DCI dedicates a significant portion of all monies generated to be utilized for kidney-related research, education, and other uses consistent with the company Charter. The local Medical Director is responsible for recommending expenditures of reserved funds, which serve to further the company's charitable, scientific, and educational purposes. Such programs might involve research studies, training, education, and clinical and patient care activities. In addition to the Research, Education, and Development fund, DCI maintains a research fund to which contributions are made on a voluntary basis from the dialysis units and the corporate office. This DCI Paul Teschan Research Fund utilizes a peer review process to fund scientific applications on an annual basis. DCI's commitment to improve the dialysis process continues to grow, and over $100,000,000 has been reserved for these efforts since the Company's inception.
